'Tis a good day to be an OBDI driver in Illinois
Just got this in the mail regarding my 300ZX...
No more emissions testing for me! Which means I don't have to keep my cataltyic converters around for testing anymore! (So Riz and Eric - get test pipes and never look back!!!)

I knew your Z32 was gone, but I figured from your sig that you had the S30, which is why I addressed you.
I heard about it last spring (my friend failed in his car and our mechanic friend told him not to worry because, come this February, he'd never have to test again), but was skeptical about it. Then I saw the law and the part about the car having to be in compliance on Feb. 1, so I figured I'd have to test the car at least once before it was exempt (I've never tested this Z), and was concerned that it wouldn't pass (plus I'd have to borrow cats from a friend). I was extremely glad to see that I'll never have to worry about it again.
My last experience with the red Z32 at the testing facility was a nightmare though... after they spent a few minutes trying to decide what to do about putting hoses on my dual exhaust, it ended up being a fat chick who drove the car on the treadmill... and my power seats didn't work (and I'm 5'10, 150lbs). After messing up the first time, she had to test it again... and she left the car in 3rd gear for the 59mph highway section! The car passed anyway, and if it hadn't I would've complained like all hell that she wasn't in 5th by 40mph, but it was still an unpleasant experience all around.

cool man. hmm. 5'10" 150... your not a big guy, your my size, well, i put on 15 pounds due to college and such, but eh, im tryin to ditch that. and yeah i hated the emmision testing facility. i dont trust nor like when any one other than me drives my car. i do find it ironic that a fatty drove your car on the treadmill, should put her up on the rollers and get her emissions tested. i do however miss the Z32, jsut something about the handling and the over all feel of the car is irreplaceble. but i plan on getting another one, my S30 right now just got a new turbo for it as well as an EFI motor so its getting a major upgrade from the original dual carb L26 motor. then i shall make her purty and i may end up selling her to get a TT. but that only if the S30 doesnt do it for me and replace the void ive had in me ever since my Z32 starting running like *** and then sold it.

WHAT? When and why did this happen?
Will you be returning to the Z family soon? (On the bright side, at least now it's an opportunity to start fresh with a car that doesn't need any body work.)

Yup, I sold it.
The primary reason I sold it is cuz I need the money.
Secondary reason would be that I was planning on going back up to Canada but as always something happens. Best Laid Plans as they say.
I would most definitely love to get me a TT in the future. I need to get some things in my life in order before I start thinking about a fun car. I'm rolling the 'tegra now as my "practical" car. It's not a guzzler. It's pretty ok on gas and it's still semi-sporty, so i don't feel like a total dork driving it.
Stupid priorities. I miss my car like crazy but I gotta look to my future.
