buying 92 tt z32, need more opinions

The seller was asking for 5k but I talked them down to 3500 since the car has a salvaged title. The body is in pretty good shape, it has a new motor (5k miles on it) has a lot of upgrades done to it (will list below) however it has a rough idle like its not hitting all the cylinders while its cold but gets better after its warmed up. Its being ran with 15 psi and felt very strong and smooth on the test drive. I am going to have a diagnostic done on it but what I want to know is what potential issues can cause a rough idle and what the best/worst case scenarios may be. Overall, what I want to know is if this is a good deal.

Upgrades include: Z1 Stainless Steel Twin Turbo Testpipes, Mishimoto Z32 TT performance Radiator, Greddy Profec B Spec2 Boost Controller, AMS lightweight pulley set, Chrome TT intake hard pipes & SSQV BOV's, HKS Hiper Exhaust System, AMZ stainless steel Divorced Downpipes, Greddy Turbo Timer with Harness, Z1 Mototsports ECU upgrade, Nismo 555cc Fuel Injector kit

Did the diagnostic and was told that since the owner put auto double or triple platinum plugs in it and not nissan plugs that it is causing the rough idle at low rpms and that the mass air flow sensor needs a cleaning, all of which they would do for 260 + tax... sound legit?

So they are charging you $200 in labor to change the spark plugs and clean a MAF which would take all of 30 minutes to do? Did they even pull any of the plugs and the MAF to check them, or are they just guessing to rack up your bill?

Yeah I would assume they must have pulled one of the plugs since that is how they found it was not the stock plugs and from what I read online the MAF gets visibly dirty so I would assume they looked at it. Im going to get some quotes from some independent mechanics since dealerships usually over charge but does the plugs/maf sound like a legitimate reason for a rough idle?

No, sounds like a vacuum leak to me. I would highly suggest a z32 specific shop, as most people are going to just lie to you in order to make more money.

Dude i say a TT for 3500 would be a steal, i paid 2500 for my na and it needed some serious attention. (i.e. injectors, plugs, 2 coil packs, belts includeing timing belt pcv valves fuel filter, brakes all around and new tires, clutch kit, and not to mention a new motor 3 months after buying it(spun bearing)) And some other stuff that im sure im forgetting. I say get it and go over it with a fine tooth comb. Good luck
