Oil pressure

Just looking for a general survey on oil pressures. How much oil pressure do you have at varying RPM's and temperatures. These figures will vary based on types of oil. I'm using 15/50 Mobil 1 syn. I'm running a bit over 100PSI when cold. When the engine is hot, I'm running 20-30 PSI at idle, which climbs to about 60PSI at or near 2500. The pressure climbs to 75 or so near redline. Let me know what you have. I also have a larger capacity oil cooler from Z1 and I'm using a K&N oil filter. I'm not using any oil additives.

Did you install that new oil pressure gauge when you did the oil cooler?

I'm just wondering where you got such precise numbers or were you just guesstamating?

I'm just that good. Nah, I was just guesstimating. I figure you've got marks at 30/60/90/120 on the factory gauge, so you can get pretty close after that.

Is you notice in his first post, he labeled everything along with an "about" or "or so" or labeled it as "20-30 psi." But, why do you ask, I'm just curious.

He was probably bored, or decided to try my selective reading.

Actually I had noticed that you stated that you had just installed the larger oil cooler and I remembered that someone had asked me about where to place a sensor for an oil cooler. I didn't remember if it was for oil pressure or oil temperature. I thought that might have been you is all.

At first I thought maybe you were implying that he might be getting an incorrect reading b/c of the larger oil cooler.
