Newbie to site got cam question
I own a 91 Z32 na. I am rebuilding the motor. While rebuilding the heads I noticed the left (drivers side) exhaust cam had a bent splene on the front. Knowing it was going to snap if I bent it back I did it anyway. Yes it is broke. This splene goes into the cam sensor. My question is will this effect my performance in any way or should I try to locate a new camshaft? Not sure if any member can help please feel free to do so.

Can you please post a pic of what you're referring to? It's been a while since I've looked closely at the cams (though I'll have my engine apart very soon) and can't picture what you're referring to.

it's the semi circle that goes into the CAS. sticks right out of the front of the cam.
yes, you need it. i'm pretty sure the car won't run at all without it if it's what i think you are talking about.
i want to hear how long this engine lasts... did you turn the crank? what main clearance did you use?
i have a completely not guaranteed cam used with slight surface rust you can have for $20 + shipping. from a 90-94 n/a

KasbeKZ I will take it as long as the lobes dont have visuall wear and the surface rust can be removed without having pitting. Do you have a paypal account? The motor should last like a new one. Im building the car for my wife to have something fun for the summertime.
