Names mike, I run a shop in Pittsburgh pa, and I built this car as my daily driver, I had light weight, better gas, and easier to work on in my mind when i built this car. It's got a full ka24det swap, all basic bolt ons, at 13psi. I also did a full custom suspension swap, ditched the factory stuff, went with 240sx coilovers, custom top hats and lower coillover arms. Custom lca's and s14 inner and outter tie rods. Full ISIS suspension package, 1 piece driveshaft, s14 welded differential, among all the other stuff that was done to this car. I did everything too this car, so i hope you guys enjoy it! feed back is appreciated, I need a front bumper i'm looking for an oem one

Wow! Props on the work! So what's the whp running 13psi? Have you scaled the car to see if the weight distribution is very different?

Only thing I feel sorry about is the dumb rad hose i have on it now, i had a blow out on a highway a few days ago and it's all advance auto had, so i have a silicone hose coming in.

I haven't thrown it on a dyno yet, i'm going to wait till spring to do that, because I plan on running more boost starting spring. But right now its an est of around 280whp?

Nor have I weighted it yet, I just know with everything done and 2in lowering springs the front end was so high it was ridiculous compared to the rear.

I have a feeling this thread is going to turn south really quick about a 4 cylinder swap into the Z32... lets "try" to keep it positive, or at least civilized.

So you swapped in a known heavy motor, lost two cylinders, a turbo, added weight to the driver side only to lose 100 pounds? not to mention it looks like you didn't line up the motor in the car. On top of all this, you are boosting 13PSI with boltons and are barely pushing what a stock vg30dett puts out at 10psi?

I'm not trying to diss you, but if you are going to go to that length at least put some serious forethought into what you're doing.

lmao! The motor is aligned perfectly to the mm. W/ a turbo it just makes it look like that.

It's heavier than an sr, but I lost a lot more than a 100lbs on the front end from this swap, so woo I lost 2 cylinders and a turbo, I put a lot of thought into this swap, lots of research, and I decided this was the best swap for my daily. Thanks for trying.

as for the 2jz swap idea above, no.

It's really funny how most of the posts already are trying to find negatives in the swap, which is really ridiculous if you ask me. So i'm not even going to be defensive about my car, because I know it was a great swap. Thanks for trying to be ********, try harderr

I wonder why those Nissan engineers never offered a 4cyl Z32 option....

I have to say this man. That putting a 4 cylinder in a Z, is almost as bad, as putting a V8 in it. It is called bastardizing.

All aside...if that is what you like, to each his own. I would never put a 4 banger, or a V8 in my Z's. If it works for you, then that is all that matters. Props for the work.

But you have never weight a complete vg30dett, or a ka24det, or weighed both in the car so how can you call that an accurate assumption? You have put alot of thought into this swap? are you ****ing kidding me? what did you put lots of research into? how to weld up a set of motor mounts? If you would have put any amount of thought or effort into researching a swap for a z32 you would have came to the conclusion that the vg is the best choice because that's what it came with!

But I guess drifter boy is gonna play ignorant and shrug off everything we say because he doesn't want to admit his own stupidity.

Thanks for trying.

I support your posts in this thread, but I have to add that the VG30DETT isn't the best simply because that's what it came with - it's the best because it can be built to do whatever the hell you want it to do, and it'll do it better, for less money (in the end), than any engine conversion one could attempt.

And as for Mrmoose's comment about the 2JZ - simply, no.
