Underdrive pulley- allways the way to go my friend but remember nothing on the Z is ever a five minute job.

If u want advice on how to make your Z go like stink speak to RIZ Z SPEED, he and his buddies know pretty much everything when it comes to the Z.

good Luck fella

For not a lot of money, I'd start by replacing the stock airbox with an intake to help it breathe easier. Engine will sound throatier than stock too!!!

You can do a custom cat-back exhaust for around $300. Decent pre-fab systems from the major brand names start around $600 and go up.

ECU upgrade can be anywhere from $250-$550.

Zunleashed is right about the UD pulley. But you want to get a good one that doesn't do away with the harmonic balancing. Simply installing a cheap u/d pulley will reduce weight which will give you power, but at the cost of engine longevity.

P.S.--I've got an extra intake if you're interested. I'm thinking $10 + shipping and it's yours. PM me if you're interested.

is the engine going to come out of the car or is it already out?

for starters do intake and exhaust
depending on if you have to pass emissions you can get test pipes(no emissions or high flow cat pipes(will still pass emissions)
you can get an upgraded ecu
you can get an upgraded clutch and lightweight flywheel
you can get a one piece driveshaft
you can get an underdrive pulley or the complete unorthodox pulley set(4 pulleys)
you can get headers

if the engine is out i would reccomend doing pulley and headers, and if you want more radical stuff like cams, pistons, honed plenums, etc....

here is rizz'z link page

waterdog...i dont think a pulley that keeps the harmonic balance on this car is being produced anymore

i completely agree, and i should have said that to start with

get your engine checked out. find out what all is wrong with it and if something does need to be replaced, depending on the part, your desire, and money, you could either replace with stock or upgrade.

heres a link to engine parts

Ticking is one thing,...knocking is something completely different.....very bad. How long was the car driven after the oil pan was cracked? If it was starved for oil, then you have some major engine work ahead of you.
