Wus up fellow Z drivers. My baby 91 300zx 2+2 has been down since last year june and im finally getting her engine next week. i need to kno what i can do to my engine while it is out. Also any changes or things i need to get to keep my car running without problems.

 

You need to cryogenically freeze the engine and put it in storage. It'll last forever that way

Just keep up with maintanence and make sure the engine you're putting in is in good shape to begin with. Other than that there's not much else you can do to keep the car problem free except cross your fingers and take care of it.

 

Standard maintenance: pcv valves, all accessible vacuum lines, water lines and fuel lines, hoses, spark plugs and rear main seal. Just about everything else will be covered with the 120K kit. Get the JWT VTC springs and new studs for the idler pulleys with the 120K kit. Wire harness would be an ideal replacement while you have the chance if you haven't done so yet. Last but possibly pull of the pan and check out the crank bearings and inspect the pan and pickup (not necessarily in that order).

 

how can i get the 120k kit? also im port and polishing my intake...wel would like to. would that b a good idea?

 

the 120k you can probably get from any nissan dealer, or you can get a hold of Concept Z Performance as well.
