Hi All
My name is Matt. I just bought a 1990 300ZX TT and I love it so far. I have already put about 4,000 miles on in about a month. It is up to 102,000 miles on it. I wanted to ask you professionals where I should start my upgrades at. I want it to be my project car. I already have an Greddy exhaust, JDM front bumper, Jspec Taillights, Intake, Turbo Timer; I just wanted to know where to go now. Thanks for all you help look forward to my project to get going.

Um yeah, I do believe you do. If you are going to do any mods, I'd do the major ones all at once. A great combo would be the exhaust, intake, ECU and jets. You can get it done for around 2 g's. But, it makes sense to do them all at once because they compliment each other very well. Plus, you will average around 100hp gain. What I mean by saying that they compliment each other is that they all are great by themselves, but they won't reach their true potential without the others. An ECU and jets is great, but if you aren't getting the right flow in and out, it isn't going to be prime. At the same time, if you have great flow, but don't have the fuel/air mix right for that. You are once again selling yourself short. Yeah, you could do them seperately, but I'd save my money and do them all at the same time. That is what I am going to do for my TT. Suspension is also a great route. If you have relatively new stock shocks, then I'd focus on bushings. They will definately give you a tighter feel. I personally feel that the stock shocks are great, it is those rubber bushings that aren't up to snuff. Plus, I like having control without having to reach up into my wheelwell. Do things smart and thought out. Most people couldn't handle the true capability of all of their mods on a road course. They'll have Brembo brakes and still be stomping on them at the 3 marker. Buy what you can REALLY utilise. Otherwise, you are going for glitz, not performance. If at some later date you become master of the track, then you tweak and peak your setup. Until then, use what you can actually use. $5000 or $10000 is a lot to spend to have people say "nice Z".
