Man, if they guy you bought that from didn't tell you about the boost problem, I'd head back over there and crack him in the skull. That's f'd up. Theproblem that you described in perf/tech sounds like a faulty connection; which is very similar to what you foung with the knock sensor wire. I bet that fixes it.

Yeah, it most likely will. But also, I don't want to get you nervous, but you said everything is perfect with the car. The boost problem you're experiencing has the potential to be a serious problem. If the connector fix doesn't solve the problem, let us know and we'll see what else we can come up with before you start on that knock sensor.

How long did the guy have the exhaust system before he sold the car? Did the system not have a place for the O2 sensor, or did the deuschbag that sold it to you just plug the whole because he was too cheap to replace it?

You can replace the connector for a rather cheap price. I woulld try that first. If that doesn't work and you're pretty sure it has to do with your knock sensor, then you have two options. You can be stubborn and insist on factory knock protection and spend upwards of $600 or do the plenum pull yourself...necessary to replace the knock sensor. OR you could try this:

If that still doesn't work and you don't want to full no pull the plenum, this is an easier fix, but like 91zxtt said earlier, it won't work as well as replacing the knock sensor, but it will work and it will still give you some knock protection, just not stock levels of protection.

Yeah, I only had one today, and it only took me like 10 min. I knew where everything was. But I'm glad I could help out. I hate to see a Z with problems, b/cI know what it's like. It's frustrating to have a problem that could be a number of things...like hesitation.

Do you really want your hesitation improved?

I'd rather have it eliminated.
