My brother is moving to china for work and will be traveling to japan a lot as well. So we have worked out a plan to get JDM parts with one exception. . .where to get them once hes there. Anyone ever been there and done a little automotive shopping? Places to check out, places to avoid?

I had a friend that went to Japan to teach English. I was looking for the '99 side skirts that came on the 2+2. and the '99 front fascia he found them. and tried to ship them to me and US customs held them up and would not let them come in to the US. I think you have to have a permit to bring used parts into US. Don't quote me on that but that was the problem I ran into while getting parts. let me know if you find either of these parts while your looking over there I'll send cash.

 

Used parts are allowed in the US. It all depends on the customs officer and his mood. If he thinks you are getting too good of a deal expect issues. Have it sent as a gift. That would help.
