Just picked up a 91 TT, garaged for 10 years, clean title, no dents and great paint. If I told you how much I paid and what was needed to get her running, you would hate me. I'm 30 now and the 300zx was my dream car for a long time. I went to buy one when I was in the military and after driving 800 miles, the seller got cold feet and decided not to sell it. Well everything happens for a reason because now I have this beauty. She still needs a lot of love though. I'm torn with either pulling the motor out and replacing everything I can outside of rebuilding the motor or just replacing the clutch, fuel lines, water lines and tune up. If I go with pulling the motor, I won't have her ready for atleast a year but I'm nervous that if I just get her running now, I'll run into problems along the way... and from what I have read, they like to give you problems. Can anyone recommend a great mechanic, member or shop that can assist me with getting this car going in the Los Angeles area?
Thank you sir! I called around and got quoted over $2500 just in labor to pull the motor out, re-seal her and swap clutches. I think that's a bit high for just labor so I purchased about $500 worth of tools and am going to do the labor myself. Gonna make her my hobby outside of fishing!
The goal is to hit 360-400whp. Gonna go HKS intercoolers with stock piping, 2.5" downpipes, 2.5" test pipes, and 3" piping to vibrant oval mufflers. I won't have the funds to upgrade the turbos for I will be upgrading the brakes, tires and suspension.
What is the most efficient way to turn up the boost on stock turbos? Anyones input is greatly appreciated!
