Pretty sure that its your wheels that needs balanced
I had the same problem with the vibrating steering wheels and all it is is that the wheels needs to be rebalanced.

Mines started out vibrating and then as I put loads onto my trunk its start vibrating like there is no 2morrow. But im sure that its your wheels that needs to be rebalanced

You can do all this stuff, I've done it on both of my Z's.

Rear headlight aiming crap (behind driver's seat), rear tire and jack accessories, rear reservoir (if 90-93), front tow hooks (I never tow from the front, always from the rear so I killed the weight), carbon canister bypass, AIV's, EGR (if you ever pull the engine, kill the EGR for additional weight), swap out the seats as the stock seats are very heavy, there is a 10lb weight in the rear hatch that keep the hatch from shooting up when released...pull that off for additional weight shaving, kill the cruise control unit, take out some of the sound-deadening material, go to a smaller battery (can save up to 10-15lbs) when going to a different/smaller cell.....to name just a few off the top of my head.

BTW- Steering wheel shake can be a few different things....wheels are possibly unbalance, rotors are warped (replace with aftermarket, don't regrind), bad steering rack bushing, bent tension rod.
