So my freinds neighbor works at our local nissan dealer, and sometimes he can get a hold of stuff off trade-ins and the like.
This time around he got a hold of a grounding kit off a WRX. And I bought it off him for $25. Saving me $100, and the embarrasment of buying something(relatively expensive for what it is) that mighte not do anything at all.
I put it in, with some modification to the assembly/wires, but it went in well. I drove the Z afterwards, and it felt and sounded ALOT less disgruntled than usual around 5500-6500RPM. Not to mention, it felt nice and torquey, like when you drive on a cold morning, not to mention it was 80 degrees today

It's a common thing to put on these cars. There are so many electronic gadgets on these cars that additional grounding points can make a noticeable difference.

Answer to your question: negative cable goes to GROUND... same on all modern cars.

Yeah... the negative cable is just grounded to the chassis somewhere. Don't recall the stock location, but when I relocated the battery to the hatch, I just used a bolt where the spare tire was to ground the battery.
