help radiator leaking...

wassup guys. i just got my trans replaced witha jdm 1. its an automatic. after a couple of days of driving i hv noticed that coolant leaks from my under my car. it happens only the car is parked but stops within 1 or 2 mins. i hvnt taken it to my mechanic yet but i hope u guys can give me a head start on this matter. since i am a new z owner, i was wondering how much the rads go for with install. will an aftermarket 1 cost me less? if so... which would be a good choice. thanx ya all in advance for ur help. -the poor z owner .

Are you sure it's leaking from the radiator? Have you checked all of the hose connections? Is your overflow tank over fiilled? These might be some things to check first.

heater hose

make sure you check the heater hoses behind the intake they are right above the transmission. if this problem occured after the tranny replacement it could have to do with the heater hoses. just check it out

i hv noticed that the coolant doesnt drip from under the radiator but a little further down(btw engine n belts), so hopefully its 1 of those hoses. i hv an appointment with my mechanic tomorrow for a exhaust change. he should be able to pin point the problem for me and fix it. thnx a lot for the advice. i hv a gut feeling it has to do w/ 1 of the heater hoses as speed suggested. i'll check em out n let u guys know. thnx for all ur help.

I bet there's a small leak in either the upper or lower radiator hose and it's running down the hose and dripping from the lowest spot on the car. Tighten all of your clamps and see if it stops. If it's not that, then it sounds like it's in the same vicinity as the water pump.

Hey FaYeZ 90NA, you asked and got some great answers. Now bite your lip, cross your fingers, say your prayers tonight and hope it's a clamp, and not a water pump.
