ConZult

I was wondering how many people here use ConZult and their thoughts about it. It looks like something I would like to have.

I have tried out the free version of conzult, it was pretty good, I have Blazt which is way cheaper the conzult is is nearly the same thing... either way the info you can get with them in real time is quite useful, as well as being able to manipulate things such as a/f ratio, timing, etc. also shows logged error codes as well as being able to reset ecu, clear codes, etc.

Where did you get your free version of it? Also with Blazt can you reset the ecu and clear codes? I also want to be able to run the diagnostics on my A/C and heat because its all messed up. Can Blazt do that?

Yes, everything I said is stuff I do with blazt, you can reset the ecu, reset the self learn and clear codes and see logged codes, as well as set it to automatically time acceleration times, map your timing, record all sensors for later review, etc... you can get the free versin of conzult from the conzult website I believe, only thing is you have to build the cable (I just used my blazt cable, since they are the same interface).

Edit: as for the A/c and heat, you can run all those diagnostics using the climate control buttons/display

Yep, i havent really found a difference between the two, but since i only had the free version of conzult it was a limited version, so i coulndt do anything but monitor sensors with it

new question...does anyone use zemulator? i did some research on that, looks like an awsome tuning program that runs just like conzult at blazt...so im wondering what thoughts are on that and if its even worth the money or if you can get the same results using Blazt cause its very affordable.

To plug the laptop into the car all you have to do is build a cord that goes from the wires in the port under the dash to the correct pins on a serial connector at the other end to plug into your car (or how I did it, was got a connector that worked with the cars connector, and made an inline serial to usb converter to plug it into my laptops usb port)... I dont have the exact pinout on me but I think I got it origionally from a link on the conzult website. if you go with the serial connection its actually quite easy once you know which wire goes where

I found a few free programs that allow you to play around with the ECU reading data like fuel maps....more than the free version of conzult. They are Ztalk, CalumSult and Z control....pretty cool but you have to either make or buy a consult cable on ebay or the blazt web site sells them for 70 bux, to hook your laptop up to your OBD 1 connector in your car. I think im going to buy Blazt, Im siked! Its pretty much like hooking your car up to a dyno. Only thing is I don't understand the fuel maping graphs but ill have to learn.

here are some links.

http://people.aapt.net.au/~mearcat/Consult/ << has a list of the free programs that are aviable.
