Wrong forum. Moved to z32 forum.
price is just a tad much if car is in good shape. BTW, CD player is not the only non-oem part. that is not an OEM shift ****. looks like a very clean car though, and sounds like the 60k service has been performed. if its what you want to spend, should be a good car. i would like to see engine pics though.

yeah, plus, you havent driven it yet, there was the most gorgous TT being sold here with only like 30K on it, and some guy that was a brief member here went and drove it, apparently it ran like *******. id say try to get it for as close to 10K as possible. 15 is a little high 13 is reasonable 10 is in your favor

+1 Start with 10k for your leverage point meet in the middle.

I'm in New York, and their value here is ridiculously high. I can honestly say that I only see one every few months - they've all become extinct here. I'm currently searching for one, and every seller I come in contact with wants a stupid price for the vehicle, even if they've beaten on it.

Its posts like that that make me think twice. A good thing probably but have you seen the prices of these cars nowadays? Many people say they got theirs for 6-9 but how long ago was that?

I think every car is different
You have to figure out how much you will spend on it over the next 5 years. Say you know you are going to only use it to drive on weekends and only for about 50-100 Miles per weekend, meaning not to work or long trips. Then figure out the costs.
3000 miles synthetic oil changes
60k service
alternator <-- lets face it they go out often on Z's
did the car in question live by the ocean, does it have salt damage (read rust)
tires (most z rated last 20-30 Miles) on TTs you can't rotate
Insurance costs
anything else you can think of.
rainy day fund.
Now figure out the cost including payment of a new car you would buy instead of the Z for the same usage or even a differnt car you would buy that isn't knew.
Does that car really compare with a Z32?
The big reason Z's lose a bunch of value over the years is miles vs. maintenance costs. Replacing 2 turbos and a 120k kit runs about 10k if you have a proffessional doing it. If you are way under that as far as miles, and don't plan on reaching 120k in a long time (take the average time you owned a car throughout your life) then you might enjoy owning a really nice Z32.
but all this is just math, how do you feel about spending that much on a nice car?
I paid 8K for mine but it had 118k on it when i bought it (I did the 120k service myself)

I tend to do most of the work on my car as well. Did so for my NA (injectors, clutch, and starter. I really want to get a car that will not give me these problems. Insurance is not really a big factor for me since its a 1 time payment every 6 months. The only other car I like is the 350Z and that is too much $ for me to be spending right now regardless of weather it's a monthly payment or not. I think I can buy this car, use it for 30K miles (plan on using it about 3/7 days a week..and then possibly sell it and still get about 10K for it with 90K miles. Although I think I may just fall in love with it and not sell it but still.

* No body damage, original paint preferred
* As stock as possible
* Very good interior
I paid $9,800 cash for my car and have since spent about $3,000 in basic maintenance and repairs that preventative maintenance by the prior owner would have made unnecessary. I don't have any regrets as this is the car I *really* wanted. The only way I can see that the car you are considering is worth $13k is if the owner has all the records for maintenance, showing that he has kept the car in pristine mechanical condition.

I bought a black on black 90' 5spd twin turbo with 16k miles on in it in Jan. It was bone stock except for the stereo, and alarm with turbo timer (guy paid 3k for it.) This was exactlly what I wanted: year, color, tranny, leather and mileage. The only thing I'm not feeling is the tweed interior trim. I'd like to do a leather conversion.

18k. And yes the alarm/stereo setup was 3k. I guess I didn't make it clear enough. Funny thing about this my Z is I kind of followed it for about a year and a half. I spoke with the original owner in 2005 who sold it to add on to his house. He lived somewhere in Penn, he sold it to a contractor for 20k who put in the alarm and stereo. He broke his back in 06 and sold it to a guy in Springfield Mo. I then bought it in Jan 07. I sold my 350z to buy it. Anyone in here change out the tweed?
