Body line delete?

Hey guys. I'm in the middle of a huge project with my z32. She's a '91 2+2 na. Got her for a steal from another nissan enthusiast afew years ago.

She survived a house fire last winter. After alot of cash of course. Decided to paint her from nasty maroon to a bright white. Got as far as primer on her as of now.
During which time I got to practice alittle body work. Deleted my spoiler, antenna, rear wiper. Very clean look.

Im replacing the tired 215k engine with a dress up kit jdm VG30DE painted of course with afew bolt ons.
Trying to keep her quick but reliable.

I'll be painting the engine bay black While she's out. Which is alot of work in itself.
Before I start wet sanding for her final spray. Ive been debating filling in my bodyline. Anyone ever do it?

The only real issue I see is the rear bumper is plastic. Plastics flex.

Anyone autobody guys have any input on this that'd be appreciated.

Welcome to ZDriver!

Try taking this photo and eliminating the 'bodyline' you mean, using a photo editing program like Photoshop or GIMP, to see if you like it. Personally, I think it adds a sporty element to a body design that is closer to basic 2-door sedan than to sports car. Your call there. If it is a metal-to-fiberglass joint, it should be there to separate the different panels/materials. Also a good place to switch colors in a 2-tone paint job.

Z bumpers have been all 'plastic' since '86 and they allow the all-one-color look everyone liked. Don't know what you would replace your bumpers with. They provide a softer landing spot for boneheads who have to park in-line by the braille method: They drive forward or backward until they 'touch' your bumper (they feel it), then they brake and shift. The covers accept these 'minor' bumps without deforming. Braillers put scratches in your paint you can touch up or ignore. It's the price of living with braille parkers.
