91 300zx TT struts/power steering

So the past 25 years my struts have never been replaced. I bought some Stagg struts off ebay (I know prob not the best) but I'm short on money. My mechanic called and said that each strut is electronic making the rear wheels turn with the front (hicas) but my hicas light has been off and the struts that I bought are not electronic but will fit the car. Is it a bad thing to not have the electronic part connected? I've bad having speedometer problems and power steering problems and thought this might help? Was also thinking about buying the hicas eliminator. Thoughts? Thanks

Any suggestions would be appreciated! I just don't know if I should have him put my struts in? I don't want it to cause more problems with my speedo and power steering

To the best of my knowledge, the electronic struts are only controlled for stiffness, that is the only electronic thing about it, and they are little actuators on top that turn. They should have 0 impact on the HICAS.
