300zx headlights

Hey guys i just recently bought a 92 300zx and im going to start building it up with an RB26 swap that is being shipped as we speak. i have money and this will be my weekend/track car. i saw a toyota supra with a hole in the headlight for more air to get to the turbos and i thought that was awesome! so ive been looking for the past week trying to find headlights like that. no luck so far so any help will be much appreciated.

Welcome to ZDriver!

I'm pretty sure it's for the air filter, not the turbo... Since the Z32 air intake is under the center panel, it wouldn't make much sense to have a "headlight intake". Since you are doing a custom RB swap, I'm sure you could custom fab something for yourself?

Notice the port aiming right at the air filter (looks like they just chopped into the stock headlight):

Run the intake/MAF where the factory sidemounts go, or run it under the nose panel.

my cousin has that on his supra its for the filters really but if you wanted to get more airflow to the turbos try running some intakes off them or going with a vented hood and grill. carbon creations has the slotted style grills for good airflow and vis has a good selection of vented hoods

Good luck cutting a hole in GLASS

Read what we said. your better off putting a filter either inside the nose, or down where the factory SMIC mounts

i guess it depends where the turbo sits on the RB26, but for the glass headlights i own a couple glass cutter drill bits. the a reason why my name is nissan_noob, im just starting in the tuner world so cut me a little slack over here.

A better arrangement would be to not put the intake filter behind the ****ing headlight. :gasp:

Leave the intake filter in the nose panel and it'll draw in cooler air... cutting a hole in your headlight for the same purpose is just retarded.

ok, no drilling of the headlights. it was just an idea that seemed interesting, but if its more show then go then ill leave my headlights alone and keep the intake in the front(nose) of the car.
