300zx EGR delete benefits
300zx EGR delete benefits
Hi,
I have a 90 300zx N/A and I'm trying to get it to pass emissions legitimately. It failed the first try, so I changed the catalytic converters, then took it again. The smog guy said that everything was good, except that my EGR valve or pipes might be clogged. Since it's a lot of work to get to it, I'm wondering if it's just good to delete it? If I do delete it, it won't pass inspection, but will it pass emissions? Also, if anyone has done the EGR delete or replacement with the engine in, what was a good method to go about it? Thanks.

My Z didn't pass. The smog guy said that the lines of the EGR are clogged or the EGR valve isn't opening. I was just curious to see, since I might have to replace the EGR, if it will pass emissions without it. I know that it won't pass inspection, but since it's well hidden, the smog guy might over look it if the emissions are all good. I saw that post, but didn't really answer my question if the car would pass the emission part without it. Thanks
