Door Replacement Problem
Door Replacement Problem
I have a '90 300zx Z32. I was doing a driver side door swap because I had a big dent and cut in my door. I bought another door that was just the shell. So I removed the guts from my original door even the lock. I decided to put the door on the car first before i put all the guts into it except for installing the old lock and handle right away. As soon as I got the door put on I tested it out by closing it and then opening it. When I went to open it again, I was unable to. The door is currently locked and without a window on it right now. Oh I actually put the inside handle as well as the pulling lines to open the door. Has anyone ran into this problem? Any suggestions as to what I should do to get it open? I am thinking the problem could be I left on one of the pulling lines that came with the new shell. I think maybe its not pulling enough to get it open. But any suggestions or knowledge to the door will help.
That sucks
Cut a hole in the shell and use vise grips for pull the line a bit more.
Actually...
You're in a pretty tight spot... Carefully take apart the door from the inside, you probably won't have to take it completely apart, just the top so you can get access to the linkage. Good Luck.
