anyone have 9" wide rims in the fronts

Does anyone have 9 inch wide rims in the front. I want to know what size tires you have on there. i heard from volk racing that if i put a 245/40/18 i will have a slight rubbing. Instead they directed me to put a 235/40/18 on. I am putting on the volk racing SF CHALLENGE wheel with a 34 offset with toyo proxies T1Rs if that information make any difference.Anyone have this done or experienced this??
Thanks

9" is too wide for 245's.

I have 255's on 8.5" wheels in the front. No rubbing.

The main issues I had was see'ing if they would fit and what not. Use this calculator to see what will help fit. If your car isn't lowered and u have stock suspension, that will fit easy.

I am running the Enkei RPO-1 18x9.5 in front and rear. My front tires are 255/35-18. Zero rubbing and it's lowered. The 245/40 may be too tall? 235/40 is definitely small.

If you have 9" wheels then 235's are waaaaaaaaaaaay too narrow. They'll look funny.

So what do you suggest? I mean i could go with the 255/35/18. the OD would be 25.0in and the Side wall would be 10.1 mm .
What do you think? if i go 245/40/18 then i have a OD of 25.6 and a sidewall of 9.6mm WHAT SHOULD I DO HERE

9.5" wide rim = 9.5 x 25.4= 241.3mm, so a 245mm wide tire would be the nominal / minimum width. 9" rim = 228.6mm and a 10" rim = 254mm.

Your 255/35 tire will have a siewall height of 44.625mm. Your 245/40 tire will have a sidewall heigth of 49mm.

Each car is different and in a way depends on your car's camber settings, but I put a 285/35(?)-18 on my rear wheels one time and they stuck out. But since then I've changed my camber settings. My 275's now have room to grow before they stick out, so when it is time for me to change my rear tires I will look into the 285's at that time.

What size rim do you have in the rear? I have a 10" rim back there. I think 275/35/18 will be good on the rear. As for the fronts, im thinking about the 255/35/18 from everyone here.

Do you have a side shot so we can see how much the tire sticks out from the body panel? If it sticks out at all. The 285's are what I want to move up to next, but the last time I had one put on my wheel (about 4 years ago) it stuck out like a boy racer car.

it all depends on the wheel offset thou. If you have 285 on the rears with a good offset it should be fine ? Right?

I had already mentioned this in a prior post, and I think when I had those tires put on my car for a test fit I had stock camber settings. They stuck out. Now, I have a better camber setting and my 275's actually are tucked inside the wheel well enough that a 285 tire should work okay. Next year, when I replace my rear tires I will have some test fit.
