OK I hope somebody can help me with this. What is the correct timing with the pathy distributor? I believe stock is 15 degrees however when I set this the idle rpms is about 1200. When I adjust the distributor to lower the rpms, the bolt does not match up to the block.

Timing is no different. They're both vg30 distributors, just shaped a little different. Your increased idle speed is due to a vacuum leak, I'd bet.

You don't adjust idle speed with timing. Timing will change the idle speed, but, you don't use it for that purpose. Go find the vacuum leak.

Ok thanks for the help. With the pathy manifold, I do believe the AACV line is a vacuum line and I ran it to the tubing leading from the air filter to the turbo....I'm not too sure what the purpose of this would be? but this is how it was set up on a '95 pathfinder...... should I have plug this instead.
