1988 300zx... putting in a vg30dett
well im planning on doing a engine/tranny swap... i need a write up if anyone has done a vg30 and put a vg30dett in there car. i know its been done and i know its possible. cause its the same enigne and it mounts up so yeah. so if there is anyone here who has done it or knows where i can get the info please tell. thanks

whoever told you that is an idiot. it is NOT the same engine and it does NOT just "mount up. lots of custom fab is required. and the trannys are completely different. this will be a huge undertaking, and i think you may want to do a bit more research before you think about attempting it.

 

I'm in the process right now, you will have to fab a few things but mine is bolted in and just got it to fire up!

 

they got a guy who makes tt manifolds for the vg30e as well as turbo relocators.

I thought I had read somewhere on HybridZ that the bottom ends of the VG30ET and the VG30DETT were basically the same and that the VG30DE(TT) would just bolt up to the factory mounts for the VG30E(T)? Doesn't mean that anything else will bolt right up though.
