which swap?

I've heard of people dropping skyline engines into their car, but which skylines do the engines come out of? R33's or R34s? or what?

Also, which engine would be capable of higher performance? TTskyline or TTz32?

yeah yeah yeah i have no problems with V8s and all but i like "exotic" cars and ive always dreamed of having a skyline, so it would be pretty cool to have a skyline engine in my car.

Well bud, which skylines do the engines come out of? I'm guessing all of them. Just search for a crashed skyline and buy it. That's what I'm saving up to do. If your looking for the RB26DETT, I'm unable to tell you what that comes out of. I think the R34. As for higher performance, well, it depends on part availablility and your budget. After I drop an RB26DETT engine into my 280zx I'm taking it to japan. I hear they have a bunch of companies up there that do custom tuning and stuff like that. I'm not sure of the names except for Top Secret, but you'd be a lucky sumbitch to get them to tune it. I've heard of Skylines with 1,000 horses, but I haven't heard of TT 300zx with over 600 horses, but I'm sure there are 300's out there with more. I hope I get stationed in Japan so I can have my 280zx exported to Japan with me for free. Hello high military pay and japanese parts!!

Look at it like this... if you don't know enough about nissans to know the different types of engines that are done in Skylines, from the RB25DE, RB25DET, to the RB26DETT... unless you wanna play with the ZR platform and tinker with a RB20DET. No offense, but you wouldn't know how to set the timing on that engine, I think you need to do your homework before you jump up and try to swap in an RB motor. But no... you no longer need a skyline wiring harness, It now becomes possible to use an RB motor with the HKS F-CON V Pro, and HKS F-CON S programmable units. Though...that's still a little much for you to understand, You'd probably be the kid who'd get an RB26DETT, do a turbo conversion and forget the MAF sensors... Not to be an ***.... just being honest, you need to do your homework.

i know, this is just the peliminary research for it. Im 17 with no job at the moment so this engine swap isnt coming anytime soon. I'm going to be reading up on information about the swap *if you have anything online, link me so i can read it* My Uncle has a car shop and has been doing engine swaps and rebuilds his whole life, when i get the engine i was going to have it shipped to him and drive to his shop to do the actual swap.

I'm not sure what all to do for an RB swap in my 280zx, but when I wanna get someone who has done the swap themselves, and get them to teach me how to do the swap. When I open up my zcar shop...dream of mine...I wanna be able to do those swaps. All I know about the swap is that there is a lot of custom fabrication. I don't know too much yet but I'll learn.

he picked up a junked skyline for $2500. In germany, skylines are not that hard to find. Plus my buddy went to college for car audio/ electrical, and I myself fabricate for the usaf, so the task was not that hard so far. Just finding wires and where they go. hehe but that will happen no matter what engine

bwhaha, I dont mind, I really like my job. Its cool making stuff out of flat stock,(flat stock is a giant sheet of aluminum). Then seeing peoples look, when I make something that they could not order. But the best thing I ever heard someone say was, "what machine did this?" and my reply being, o I just used a hammer and a stake bed. heheh
