steering wheel removal help

steering wheel removal help

I have a 85zxt. Does anybody have any tips on removing my steering wheel? I have been trying to get her off and she wont budge I have not tryied heat yet, is that a good idea, any help would be apprieciated thanks!

take bolt off and if you cant use a puller use it. If you dont have a puller then wiggle the crap out of it. Maybe a little PB blaster or somehting similar.
wouldnt use feet as leverage but you get the idea.

Keep the nut on, just back it off but still threaded on. You will thank me later when the wheel doesn't break your nose. And yes, just keep wiggling it, eventually it will come off.

**Just watched the vid, not ideal. Don't have to bend/deform the wheel that much. Alternate hands wiggling around the wheel.

Ahh yes forgot always leave the bolt on with some threads. Keep you from bashing your face in.

I got it off thanks for all your help. The puller striped and shot out those 4 gold screws that hold the metal plate on. I found 4 more bigger screws and cranked them into the stripped holes. Put the puller back on and she popped right off!

Rent a puller. They're free. Don't **** up your wheel.

I rented a puller and still messed up my stock steering wheel I don't care I have a aftermarket thanks for the reply though!
