hi their everyone, so i have my engine on the stand just installed new exhaust mani gaskets and i decided at the last minute to get a new turbo. My question is would you guys reuse the old(new) exhaust gasket or get a new one. I really don't feel like paying another 20$ only to use 1 out of the set. I think i have reused one and got away with it but i cant be certain. To be honest i wouldn't care so much but the emissions at the moment is ridiculous and will fail you for anything especially an exhaust leak.

I guess what my question is have you guys reused the exhaust mani gasket with or without issues. Thanks for you time,expertise and advice in advanced

 

I never re-used an old gasket, no matter how young it was supposed to be. Sure, $20 sounds like a lot to use only one of the new pair - but think of the work you will have to do if you find out the old one is a bad one. Bad place to cheat and take a risk, IMO. Just play it safe when you are that deep into your motor.
