Pulley Fit up question

Pulley Fit up question
I'm swapping a pre-3/87 VG30ET engine into a 88 Turbo. Of course the crank snouts are different lengths. (Why did they change this?? 
)
Recommendations?
- I assume I need to swap the balancer and crank pulley for early model.
- Did the belts type change as well? (Ribbed vs. V Belt) If so, then I assume power steering pump, water pump pulley and alternator need to change?
Any info is appreciated.
