No Spark

one morning when i went to start my car, it would not start. first thing i checked was spark. there was no spark comming out of the coil. i ohmed out the coil and everything was in specification. does anyone know of any testing procedures on what to do next, or how to check the optical sensor in the distriutor?
IT IS AN 85 TURBO

please help...it is very sunny out, and i need to cruise with the tops off.

THANK YOU.

yes, i am sorry, the startor spins the motor, and battery voltage is normal. i can hear the fuel pump make some noise when the key is on, something it has always done since i have had it. i have not checked fuel pressure or anything like that. the first thing i checked was to see if it had spark, and it didn't

Do you have voltage to the coil with the key on?
