funny, i want to get rid of mine. the auto trannys in all z's have been notoriously crappy throughout the years. any particular reason you want to keep it?

 

yeah mines nearly shat itself lol, manuals are more fun to drive too

though the z32 autos are remarkebly strong! keep in mind that a few upgrades to an auto like kevlar clutch bands, manual valve bodys and custom auto ecus make a dramatic difference! only real problem is finding someone with a reputation to build it up for you and trying to find the $'s to do it. people say buy the level 10 upgrade, but i think its better to get it built from scratch. A bloke has made a z31 auto support 500 hp mind you, for drag use in a datsun ute if i remember correctly the stall was made to be 4000 rpm which is a fairly high one at that!

 

I was not sure if i wanted to go through the swap. but by the sound of it ill be pulling it out anyway, so i might as well change it now. can anyone tell me what i need parts wise to change it over.

 

there was a writeup on z31.com, but it seems to be gone now. any word on that zbum?
