intercooler questions

ok so im getting ready to purchase an intercooler but my question is, are any of you running a godspeed or cx racing fmic. im looking at godspeed's spec a:
http://www.godspeedproject.com/store..._image&pID=175

or cx racings:http://www.cxracing.com/mm5/merchant...gory_Code=INCO

the god speed i/c is 250 and the cx racing 169 but im not to sure if they are that great of companies. if not im just going to hit the j-yard and try to come up with a saab or volvo i/c and suggestions are greatly appreciated T.O.F

p.s. if there are any similar intercoolers that you guys know of that are good please let me know thanks

As far of intercoolers, the only cheap ones that have been reported in the Z and DSM world that work good are treadstone and godspeed.

hey has anyone heard of good results from using an intercooler with a heat dispersant coating? and where to get it applied at?

never heard of anyone doing that. heat dispersant coating? ehhh, most coatings are meant as insulators. In all my life of seeing electrical heat sinks, intercoolers, radiators, and even webbings on air cooled engines, NONE have ever had a coating.

I wouldn't buy a CXracing IC, thats just me. If I had enough money I'd get either a Godspeed (they make good radiators from what I hear), or a Greddy IC.

treadstone makes a good spearco clone. and i think same side intercoolers will allow for shorter piping which obviously is better lol i also stumbled across this one if you want something larger.

1 bar is atmospheric pressure, 14.7psi I believe, pretty decent difference from 10lbs. and stock is really low on those cars to. So I think 10 is a healthy start.

At blowing it up, these cars have a hard enough time with detonation at stock boost with stock timing on 91 **** gas.

sorry for some reason i could have sworn 1 bar was 12 lbs my bad i want 10 lbs to the manifold. And yes hoov i run 91 with octane booster and have a 1.5 quart oil cooler installed, and im looking into the maxima 90 amp alt. so i can run the lincon electric fan i know about detonation. you had the car boosting at 8 lbs when i first purchased it isn't a big jump 10 lbs

First off, octane booster does as much good as putting a magnet on your fuel line. And yes 10psi on a car that can barely handle 8 is a BIG difference, especially when you melt a hole in the pistons or lose a ring land. Both of which will most likely make the block unusable. Ontop of that you are only running 270cc injectors and have no way of monitoring AFR's, or any way to tune it.
