HELP! I cant get my crankshaft pulley bolt off

I cant get my crankshaft pulley bolt off, in the middle of timing belt change ... I've tried everything, even soaking it in wd-40 and a 240 ft lb 1/2" impact wrench didn't budge it, 25" breaker bar just moves the pulleys ... tried to secure the pulleys with strap wrenches, assec. belts (no-go) ... that trick with the breaker bar and starter motor to crack it I have not tried, I'm scared to, but I may try it ... what about a bolt cracker or cutting off the pulley and buy new one ... I'm getting to that point because the cars just a giant paper weight at the moment ... I need some crazy ideas people and some real help, I need all you Z gurus to respond. It's an 86 turbo if it matters

WD40 is as good as water.... Get some PB Blaster for your supplies.

Well, if you have a breaker bar, just slide a pipe on the end.... the longer the better (for more leverage). Just don't use a ratchet as it will prolly break. If you are doing this from the top side, maybe try jacking up the front & getting at it from the bottom. Make sure the car is in gear (5th is best), e-brake on, and tires are chalked.

I've yet to encounter a crank pulley bolt that couldn't be broken loose by the torque of the starter motor. Just make sure the breaker bar is wedged in the direction of engine rotation I've also yet to ever have a bad incident occur while breaking the bolt loose in this way. On the same note however, take caution if you go this route not to hurt yourself. I'd try Nismos method first with putting the car in gear and ensuring it can toll.

got it off! can't believe it ... I made a home made tool ... long flat steel bar, got a 6mm x 50mm bolt, drilled a hole thru bar, put bolt thru hole and into one of the six smaller holes, wedged bar against ground, and used a breaker bar on big nut (I also bought and used some pb blaster too), worked like a charm and I didn't have to do the scary starter method ... ok now how many rotations do I have to do before all 3 timing punch marks line up with the 3 other marks ... I get real close but not there yet ... they have to be dead on correct?

If you haven't removed the sparkplugs do so. It will make aligning those marks much easier as the engine wont see any compression resistance.

ok the write up says get all 3 marks close ... I thought it was supposed to be dead on. is there wiggle room where it just has to be close ... I have it close right now, the right cam is on the crank is on but the left cam is slightly before the mark 1/8 inch or so ... should I fudge it so all 3 marks are close as possible instead of 2 dead on
