Question Electrical problem

I've had a electrical problem recently on my 1988 300zx turbo. I've noticed that when the car is running the radio will turn off and on and at the same time the interior lights will flash and it happens every couple minutes. But if the car is shut off and I'm listening to music it doesn' happen. So if anyone could point me in the right direction of how to fix it that would be great.

Cool

My first guess (assuming that Z is not actually haunted ) is the original factory alarm system. It was fairly lame but it worked to prevent theft. It has/had connections to flash the lights and maybe cut off the radio and would also lock the steering wheel and beep the horn, if I remember. Anyway, there are posts at this site for the easiest ways to disable the factory alarm. Disable yours and see if the problem continues.

Beautiful Z, by the way. Congratulations!

Grounding?

Check all the major grounds wires and wire brush them all really good. Does the head lights being on affect anything or just the engine running?
