Hey guys, I really hope you can help me with this one. I have an '88 300zx. Heater fan was working fine the other day. Now it's not working at all. I've checked fuses under the dash, all are ok. Used volt meter on wires to fan. No voltage. Hooked fan motor up to another source and it works fine. Why would I lose power to my heater fan?? Hoping someone else has had this problem and can help. Thanks for any help. Winter's coming and I need a heater!!!

Dodgy connection?

How do you know it doesn't get power? Did you measure?

Eta meh my powers of comprehension suck this morning.

Try and follow the wiring to source. It could be shorting.

If you have power going into the switch, but no power to the fan when the fan switch is in the on position is pretty simple to interpret...you have a bad switch.

I see you posted this problem on another forum, divulging the problem was on a car equipped with full climate control, not the usual mechanical system found in most Z31s.

All of a sudden, No power to heater fan !!! - Nissan : Datsun ZCar forum :Nissan Z Forum: 240Z to 370Z

Knowing that would have resulted in a different response from this forum's membership.

check the ohms. maybe you have excessive resistance and may be the problem on why you have no voltage. also check where that excessive resistance is coming from
