Sudden Shutdown
I was driving along and my engine just shut off. I pushed it to the side of the road. All my exterior lights come on ( headlights, tail, ) but i get no power to anything else. When you turn the key, the dash lights don't even come on. My windows don't even work. I checked all the fuses and they are all good. Does anyone know what this may be??

Re: Sudden Shutdown
sounds like a bad ignition switch. lights will always work regardless of key position. Sounds stupid, but jiggle the keys a little.
Do you have like a whole bunch of stuff on your keyring? If so, get rid of it. When you have a bunch of keys on the ignition key ring, you put unnecessary stress on the ignition switch. Notice the number of older vehicles that have ignition switches that either no longer work, or you can pull the key out with the car still on. My friend has a '96 Nissan truck with 150k on it, and he can do that. He has about 20 different keys for various places he works, lives. I have only my car key and alarm remote (with quick disconnect) on the key ring. House keys are on another key ring. It not only saves your ignition switch, but it's safer, too.
...and from the ashes shall rise a new hope. And it shall be known as "Z". And it will be good.
