so I just recently picked up an 86 300zx, thats gonna be my drift project. the clutch already slips in every gear as soon as the throttle is about 1/2 way pressed. The suspension is horrible, & There's also a descent smell of gas coming from the car that I can't figure out. Im probably going to order a new clutch kit and flywheel, and was hopeing for some advice about upgrading suspension and the wierd gas odor. Thanks

 

On my 1985 Z31, the gas smell was coming from the top of the gas tank. It is cured since I had to replace the gasoline gauge sending unit. There are some parts on the old Z's that any Z shop will tell you are to be replaced.

 

Replace all your bushings with poly bushings. As for springs and struts..... There is a lot of options out there. No idea about the gas smell though. My car does the same thing.
