85 ECM on 87 car?

Basically I'm wondering if a 1985 turbo ecm will work on a 1987 turbo car? I'm asking this because I found a 1987 300ZX Turbo for sale and the guy claims it doesn't run because the ecm got moisture in it, so I'd like to know if I could just plug in my ecu into it to see if it will run.

Thanks

What about if your using Nistune with the computer will the injector type and O2 sensor type matter?

^^^ Did you click on that link?

The type of O2 sensor and injectors are dependent on the ecu year.

I did click on the link, I'm just curious if the Nistune can change that.

Those are hardware specific, not software specific. You may be able to make those changes w/ NisTune, but you will also have to make changes to the ecu hardware (i.e. install / remove resistors). I believe another difference with the O2 sensors is the 1-wire vs 3-wire heated. Those are two different types that you can't just "switcheroo".
