84 Turbo missing

84 Turbo missing

Hey guys new to the board and have a question, I did a turbo swap on my 84 n/a last summer. It ran fine on the jack stands, put the wheels back on and the fuel pump circuit in the ECU took a poo. Swaped the ECU, ran fine for a week, started missing, put a buddys distrubutor on, ran fine for a couple of days,started acting up, the miss is intermitant. I have pulled plug wires and cant get the SOB to drop on any particular cylinder. The thing will miss hot or cold, I think that rules out the cam pos sensor. Noticed the oil pressure has been dropin out, voltage will drop when the idle gets low and eratic, but the oil pressure will stay low even when urev the engine(dont know if the two are related). The EGR diphram was leaking when I smoked the intake, but I dont think a vaccume leak would cause it to run this bad. I have been thinking about getting the ECU reprogramed, has any body done the same swap or run into the same prob. Any help??? pullin my F'n hair out!

Not yet, I dug a distributor out of the local yard, and it runs quite a bit smoother, but now I get a flat spot in the power band, that wasnt there before. I'm thinking about swap'n the TPS off the old engine, and see what that does. I found a good EGR valve in the yard also, I'm gonna grab that next week, see if that clears any stumble up. I also have to get my A/F gauge hooked up, I think it might be a rich miss, MAFS?? The idle will run @ 500 then I can hear the idel air valve(?) kick down and it will idle up to900-1000,maybe the valve? I'm gonna hit some old threads too.

Sorry to drag up an old thread everybody but I was messing around today and found this. Anyways, I found a intake leak between the idle switch and plenum. Resealed and now she runs like a top. Just a little FYI update, I got it fixed, so my 82' N/A decide to quit running(she gets jealous easily), lol.
