1988 Nissan 300ZX non-turbo automatic transmission defects?
I got my transmission rebuilt a year ago or so in my 88' Z31.. Has about 15k miles on the rebuild and for about 3-4 months now, it's been making a grinding/whining noise when I accelerate and let off. This is the 2nd transmission that i've gone through but the first one was a shop mistake since they didn't put a rubber seal back in the build.. I heard that my "bearing" or something is gonig out in my transmission now? DO THE 88' Z31 NON-TURBO AUTOMATIC CARS HAVE TRANSMISSION DEFECTS? IS THERE A WAY TO WORK AROUND THE PROBLEM TO FIX IT WITHOUT DISHING OUT ANOTHER $2K TO REBUILD IT AGAIN?

should have a waranty on that transmission if its a couple months old. Take it back to the shop to see what they can do. Most people stay clear of a automatic transmission in all z's. Most of us like to bang through gears.
