z31 for z32?

i have a 300zx z31 im thinking about selling and using the money to get myself a z32 but i'm not sure if i want to do it or not. My z31 is a 1985 with 147,000 miles its NA 5speed and has next to no rust and runs very strong. I would like a z32 even if its NA and auto (5 speed would be nice) i just dont know what to do and i would like your thoughts on this thanks...

Comes down to priority & desire... What do you want, and how bad do you want it?

You'll get over it!

If you are looking to mod your Z and make it fast(er) then keep the z31 & do a turbo swap. It will cost you less than a Z32.

If you like Z32s & just want one then you answered your own question. Go buy a Z32. They are great cars.

I had a 95 TT & my 86 Z31 & had to make a tough choice. Sell one & keep/mod one. Not enough $$$ to keep & mod both. I chose my Z31 & sold my cherry TT with only 72,000 miles on it. Never looked back. Z31=inexpensive to build & maintain. My lil bro is enjoying his cherry (but much slower) TT.

yea, z31's are freakin cheap to mod compared to a z32, plus theres no need to spend $1k every 60k miles on a damn timing belt, if money is tight, keep the z31, if you like head aches and an empty wallet get a z32, but i watched my first car get trailered off to washington, i almost cried when it left..

My first car well truck, was a 1982 Datsun King-Cab pickup. I ended up rolling it on a dirt road being crazy. Hence the name WildmaN. I do miss it though, and want another one like it, or maybe an older Datsun truck.

As for what you are asking, I can't really say, because you know what you want. But that is what you need to ask yourself, what one is easier on my wallet. Or which one do I really want, no matter what. That is what you need to figure out, and then go from there. Personally it sounds like the keeping the Z31 and modding it, would be easier. But if you just want the Z32 for the bodystyle, and looks than get one. And sell your Z31, the choice is up to you.

hmmm.... i say Z32 NA still... unless you want performance and are $$ tight then Z31T.... the Z32TT will mod much better and tear it a new one.. but is much more expensive for repairs and aftermarket parts... and also can be more tempramental of a car.

my first car was a 92 toyota camry... and as i said... one snowy day lookin over at this girl i was with looked back.. saw traffic at a stand still.. no ABS shitty traction locked up the brakes right into and under a forde ranger.... i actually have a pic of it lol... here ya all go

i bent teh hood back down if was much more of a upside down V than it is in that pic... isnt she purty! lol

My first car was a 1988 300zx 2+2 loaded with everything (except the digital dash). Got rear ended my a civic. She hit me hard enough it twisted the frame in the back. Took the insurance check and watched them tow it away. I have since picked up a Neon for daily drives, 75 Nova to drag, 87 El Camino SS for fun, but when I ran accross an 88 300zx 2 seater...I couldn't say no. That is project one right now in my garage.

As far as the Z31 and Z32 go. I like both but the Z31 takes the cake. There's just something about it.

I think it is more rare to see a well done Z31. Well done Z32s are abundant. Almost commonplace. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Just makes the well done Z31s more unique & rare. I've gone to several MSA shows & a national Zcon . TONS of modded Z32s. Less than a handful of modded Z31s. I think that's why people like my Z so much. Not that it's the nicest Z around, but that it is unique. Not many around that look like mine.

im drving home from school freburary 18, 2005 at 2:48PM they are building new homes so the street is a mess and its pouring rain. im doing normal speed (35ish.) then 2 little black dudes deside to book *** across the street w/o looking first. I slam the brakes but car is still going (damn ABS) i swerve outta the way for one car (and those kids) and then I have the options since all teh lanes are blocked.

A) Older ladies Impala
B) Street Pole
C) construction concrete pump
D) MIddle divider.

I went ahead with choise A and my frotn half ended up under her car.... these where the results of the impact...

actually I did choose the softest. the pole would have PWND the car, same with the divider. the pumps are pretty beefy dude. my cousin hit one doing like 15mph. on the brakes as well that **** totaled his front end (1988 toyota pick up) so impala is made of rubber (2003) so I just went ahead and hit the cushonny back bumper.
