Z31 Fuel injector recall - need help locating parts
Hello, I researched to see if my newly acquired Z31 had the injector service campaign work done. It hadn't so i booked it into the local dealership to get it done. Great i thought, new injectors and associated parts. However, the dealership could not get hold of all the parts to do the work as Nissan had stopped making them. I called Nissan and they were no help. They said if I could get the parts they would refund me. The three parts that i cannot get are listed below. I've tried tons of web sites that list them for sale but no one has any stock. Does anyone one know where I can get all three?
17521V5220 fuel tube lh
17522V5220 fuel tube rh
17524v5003 fuel hose
I need someone who has these parts, not just listed on their web site.
thanks in adavnce. Please help...... Hugh.

The last part number doesn't seem to be found in the Nissan FAST software nor in the Z31 fiche. I'm going to guess it's your basic rubber fuel line though. You buy it in bulk from any auto parts store. Make sure you get the EFI hose though. The fuel line they use for carberated cars is not strong enough for the fuel pressures of an EFI system.
Spammers like you should die a horrible, painful, corpse rotting death.
I did read that the tubes can be damaged trying to remove the fuel hoses that attach to the injectors. As i'm not doing the job myself I'd sooner get new ones. Does anyone have any idea where I can get these two parts new? Help!!! Help!!!!!!

Unless you take a jackhammer to the rails, you're not going to damage them to the point they can't be used. Use a simple razor & slit the fuel line vertically up the end of the nipple, then pull.
This really isn't hard.
This really isn't hard.
If the Nissan dealership can't get them, then they can't be had. If the Nissan dealer isn't able to remove the old rubber fuel hoses from metal fuel rails without screwing up the metal fuel rails, you really don't want them touching your car.
It'd be like Home Depot destroying your house while pulling up your old carpet.
How difficult is this for you to understand?

If you aren't going to listen to anyone, why do you even bother asking questions?
Der... we understood that you WANT them from your first post, but what YOU don't understand as that YOU DON'T FREAKING NEED THEM SO QUIT SEARCHING FOR THEM.
And since no one makes them anymore, you're more likely to win the lottery than find a set.

I don't know why you're calling us jerks. We're trying to save you time (because you obviously won't be able to find them new) and money (because you don't need them).
The dealerships have a computerized system that networks them all together. If your local dealer doesn't have the parts on the shelf, they can look up the stock of other dealers nationwide. If all those systems come back saying they don't have any, guess what? THEY DON'T HAVE ANY. What are you expecting? Someone here to say they work at one of these dealerships to magically appear and say that something appeared on their shelf that wasn't in their inventory? Are you really hoping for that? Because if you are, you really should start buying lottery tickets (as was mentioned).
One of the reasons they are not going to be found is those parts simply don't wear out. It's like wheels, glass, taxes, and Twinkies. The only way you'll need new ones is if someone takes a hammer to them and beats them into a ball of twisted metal. You will NEVER hear of someone destroying their metal fuel rails just by removing the fuel injectors from them. If you do, the person was completely incompetent and probably isn't allowed outside without adult supervision.

Nissan won't do the voluntary recall without the new fuel rails. They don't make the new rails so it looks like I'm screwed unless i do the job myself! If anyone does come accross a set of new rails please let me know so I can take it back to the local dealer again and try to get it done. Please don't tell me i don't need new rails, it's Nissan that tell me I do and they won't do the job until they get them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, for my first post I thought I'd weigh in on this thread since reading it was making me CRAZY!
Is there no way you can take it somewhere else for the work to be done? Like to a Z shop in your area? Probably cheaper and the guys there could tell you what everyone on here is & do the work without requiring the new parts. Just a thought.

They have to do it, and if the rails are not available, then they have to do it without the rails. Period. I don't believe they replaced the rails on mine when they did them. Just the injectors and the regulator, IIRC. The rails are not the problem. The injectors and seals are. The rails have nothing to do with the fire hazard. It has to do with the electical connectors on the injectors and the rubber seals disintegrating, IIRC.
