Find a tuner shop that will corner balance. Haggle for pricing just a weight since you won't be adjusting coilovers. Or find a truck stop. Or a scrap yard may do it for free.

A tree limb cracked my windshield .. was replacing it either way. The guys at the glass shop just pointed out it was Alil lighter. They thought Id like that... yep, 10lbs.= 1 who. Though sooner or later, lightening up a car will affect its center of gravity, accleration, traction, and all over handeling.

GVWR is with 200 pound passengers in every seat, full tank of gas and maximum amount of weight the car an hold in the hatch or tow. stock z31's weigh about 2900 pounds give or take.

Gross vehicle weight rating. Not ratio. This is the maximum curb weight the car is RATED at. Meaning, the most your car should weigh with a full load of passengers and cargo. It has nothing to do with the actual curb weight of the car. My AE with me in it at a track day, weighed 3090 lbs. So 2900lbs is not a far stretch of the imagination with everything removed. That 3580lbs you read on the door placard is not even remotely the curb weight.

And you're putting in a lighter windshield? I hope you like replacing it often. Lighter windshields get cracks and chips so much easier than OEM glass. There's a reason they're lighter. Because they aren't as resistant to chips, cracks, and breakage.

A small limb smashed the last one so I don't think it matters. Stuff falls and or hits glass. It breaks.. like brake pads and tires. You gotta have them or no driving. And I have to drive! Its an obsession.

Z31 weight reduction... Don't know exactly how much i lost but here is my list of mods:
1 got rid of the foam stuff in the truck area
2 replace the driver seat with another z31 passenger seat both are leather and same color
3 i removed the pop up motors from my head lights
4 replaced motor mount to urethane ones
5 remove clutch fan and fan to be replace with a lighter electrical one
6 findanza Flywheel
7 Aluminium driveshaft
8 transmission cross member the counter weight removed and put a camaro t5 urethane mount which just bolt on into the cross member and T5 trans, by doing this engine perfectly line up from front to back
9 Removed all emission crap and cruise control
10 removed the rear bumper reinforcement and put a layer of Kevlar and one layer of Carbon fiber inside the rear bumper
11 removed the front bumper reinforcement and the bumper cover reinforce it with a layer of kevlar and CF too, and bought couple of aluminium struts bars from ebay welded together to replace the metal one. for rigidity reasons.
12 upgrade the whole catback to a custom one that i built myself with stainless steel

I don't know how much weight i lost since i got no scale, but my Z31 has improve a lot, engine is almost close to stock except for the Flywheel and 240sx throttle body upgrade.
