Top Mount Intercoolers

So i was looking at this http://www.redz31.net/turbofaq/intercoolers.html and the top mount intercooler setup caught my eye. piping is shorter and seems less troubling to set up. anyone know anymore info on it? how efficient it is in terms of keeping the air cool or how much boost a small intercooler up there can handle? sorry if this seems a newb question. just curious and i havent been able to find a lot of info on it. thanks

Heat soak is the main problem w/ all top mount IC's. And on a Z31, you'd have to chop up the hood to get enough air to it.

A good read: http://rusubaru.com/intercooler-efficiency/
