Good Afternoon Zdrivers! I need purchase advice and or recommendations. I have to purchase a Speedometer Cable for 1986 300ZX N/A. My cable is leaking Tranny fuild into the car underneath the driver side dash. As of this past weekend I can no longer see exactly how fast I am driving. After getting underneath the car on the passenger side I can see that the cable is cracked. I am in the Southeast, and would like to know where other Zdriver have purchased this replacment item from or should I just go to the dealer for this part which is listed at $106.43 before tax.

drain the cable
clean out the instrument cluster
replace the seals in the pinion gear
done.

Yup I just cleaned my cable, replaced the 2 seals in the pinion, and took apart my cluster, cleaned it, and put it back together... I have been driving for about 4 months with no speedometer it will be awesome.
