Not new to turning wrenches, 50+ years, but know when to ask the questions. Looking to change out the shocks on My Lady Z, have the electronic system in place, still works great as far as ride on the road. Got a little roll in turns, was thinking about replacing. Question is, strut mounts on front and rear have to be replaced right. Good replacement units to use, or leave alone. I have seen a strut tower brace on some, how is this for an improvement to front end performance?
My 86t has it . It is easy to empty out the old burnt oil and refill with fork oil frt. And drill small hole rears drain and fill ,use rubber grommet to seal .
the cost to do that is $$ . They are heavy rides , not like a 2L coupe, so they do hit hard esp with 50s
Nissan does not produce the adj shocks anymore, and there are no aftermarket replacements for them. You would have to go to another manufacturer non adj shocks like Bilstein, KYB....
And be sure they are compatible with the turbo front struts. The fronts are different between the NA and Turbos.
BTW, your 84T or 85T looks like it is in great shape. Nice!

Thanks man it is pristine on the inside, and I do love the Lady. Thanks for the info.

Note the shafts on oem shocks are forged steel kybs ,and they made the shafts ,parts of many /most brands are weak cold rolled steel ,
a cut away of the shocks is jaw dropping in quality
datsun / nissan had one at the service clinics
.the function of the adjustable ones is cool
cheap / low quality shocks sent many Zs to the salvage yard and still do
