That motor looks huge in that engine bay, congrats on getting it in there though, hope you get all the electrical/wiring out of the way soon so you can hear it run. Give us a taste when you get that going =P

Oh most defenetly! i will post a youtube video when shes done. The wiring is surprisingly not complicated at all since its a Manual 5 speed, the wiring is all placed together. And i just need to hook up all the relays and fuses to a positive, negative and ground. i should have everything working the same except the Guage cluster, that is something i am worried about lol

I also notice by your name wangandevil Z, (akuma no Zeto) =) that your a midnight fan and so am I!!!. Funny that this car is a ""Devil"" of her own, and i say this because she has given me a really bad vibe. At first when disassembling ive had not 1 ...or 2... or 3.. but 4!!! hydraulic jacks fail me, (2 were brand new) while working on her, jack stands im clear of lol. Then parts went missing like bolts and screws and etc and then magically appearing somewhere where i didn't put them, like my tool box or inside the car secretly hidden.this one time i was frustrated and went to shower, nothing in my bathroom that was from that car, after i was done i found a missing 10mm socket i lost (what got me frustrated to begin with) and it was on the floor, near the door. lol it was creepy ...and the worst of it, is that it literally tore my relationship with my parents, brother and girlfriend because i wouldn't give her up. getting mad at me because of it, telling me its pointless to fix it, problem after problem. things going missing etc. and yet...as much as we want to get rid of it (and we tried) people who come to buy it loved the idea and left excited at first and then we never hear from them again, and if we call back we either get hostility or loss of interest cold turkey. so either it is all purely coincidence, or maybe she just wants to retire lol.

Mad props, and congrats for shoehorning that engine in there. Sounds like you will be the first one to get this crazy swap done.

Oh, and is that a broom handle holding the hood up? lol I had to add that in there. All aside, keep up the good work. Keep plugging away, you will get there bro'.

Does the hood close? It looks like it's sitting high and really far back in the engine bay.

Did you make custom mounts or did you use the stock crossmember?

@AZ - ZBum: I used the stock crossmembers and i expanded the inserts where the mounts go "someone told me to use the Z31 mounts but i sticked to the stock Z32". I shaved off a little of the mounts to make it fit snuggly and allow clearance for the hood to close, i still need one more inch for it to close perfectly, so im instead going to get the steel hood repainted and remolded three inches so i have proper clearance and give it a little jap/muscle cross look. the pictues really dont give it Justice, since its dark, but its sitting perfectly, i can access the transmission bolts, EGR valve, hoses etc with ease and i have enough space in the front to work on the timing belt and water pump when i need to do interval replacements, you can see it in the fourth picture i think. the tranny and shifter **** fit perfectly, i didnt have to mess with that. i need a few more parts to finish, but Im almost done.

I did not expect this when i drained the tank... here are some pics with some of the fuel still in there.

You should look for a J30 upper water pipe, it points it more forward and would be make for less of a bend in the hose. Also don't don't forget to install a set of downpipes while your in there.

well, the waterpipes are fine, the top hose needed to be custom, the bottom hose was a direct oem. And yeah, the downpipes are tricky, im taking it to a muffler shop for a full aluminum exhaust system.

What I mean about the upper pipe, is that it will make it easier to find/route an upper hose with the J30 upper water pipe.

Thanks Wildman, Im hoping with this motor it will last me decades.

and i really dont know how much HP im going to get, since Everything has to be custom,

Exhaust (including test pipes and pre cats)
intake (After i have 500 miles on her im going dual intake)
piping
intercoolers
radiator
ECU tune
A/C removed with lines and condenser/evap

im Assuming 400-450 to wheels.

waay future upgrades might be 740 injectors, ported Throttles and gutted/polished Plenum, possibly in an outer powder coat type of look, and my Last upgrade will be turbo/ Exhaust manifold and tuned Transmission.

I know this is an old thread, and I haven't really looked much, but how did the completion of this project go? I'd assume SOMETHING had to happened in 3 years!
