Question Oil Temp/pressure Gauge not working???

I just bought a 86 Z31 Turbo. The oil temp/pressure gauge is not working. I know I have oil pressure because I changed my oil today. And afterwards the oil light turned on for a second then shut off. Anyway the engine purrs like a kitten. The car has 46K miles but was rearly driven. Could something be disconnected in the engine bay, a blown fuse,or is it the oil pressure sending unit? Does it control the oil temp as well? What do you fellas think? All the other gauges are working.

Thanks
Raul

Most likely, the sending unit is just bad. Check the connection. If it looks good, replace it.

Does it monitor oil temp also?

no, oil temp sender is located in the side of the oil pan. i would recommend going with aftermarket gauges, even if you dont plan on modding your car.

Naw I want to keep it factory. My 86 Z31T has only 46K miles on it.

Okay, I changed the oil pressure sending unit today. Mind you the Temp outside was 93. the oil pressure started to read while at idle 30 and while running 30 to 32psi. (Maybe 35psi)is this normal. I went WOT and 32-35psi. Also the oil temp gauge was running normal. Is this a normal number for these cars? I guess I dont need an oil temp sending unit after all.

Mine runs higher when cold (up to 60), then settles around 30 or so when it's warm. Apparently, my oil pump still works great.
