My oil pressure guage bounces around a lot, mostly stays around the 20 area, but today wen't all the way down to what appeared to be 0, and all the way up to 30. Where does yours stay? does yours bounce around? do i have a faulty gauge, or a bad oil pump?

 

The z31 is known for having oil pressure sender problems. Mine is 60 in the morning and 25 when warm, but I have a turbo. My buddys 85 NA is 45 when cold and 15 when warm, but his moves alot too.

 

Mine's a 85 NA it has never gotten above 30, only been driving it for a month.

 

Get a sender from Nissan if you replace it.

 

Install a mechanical oil pressure gauge, might cost a few dollars more but will last a life time.

 

Buy a unit from the Nissan dealer and you won't have to worry about it.
