Need some advice upgrade turbo
Ok I have and love my 87 turbo... it has 155000 on it and I notice I am not boosting as hich as I used to when I first bought the car it doesnt even get 3/4 way up the boost gauge before I am at full throttle... I think that the turbo is dying... sob, but anyway i am looking at replacing it with a much bigger turbo that has a 1.00 AR air and an .80 AR exhaust... it has a standard t3 flange so my big question is are our stock turbos a t3... or am I going to have to have sombody machine an adapter? thans guys

yeah 87 turbos were the last z31 turbo models to harness the power of the T3..then the 88-89 turbos had like a t24..or some crap like that..
I would reccomend a larger turbo unit, even though it will take more time for your turbo to spool up, but im sure you can work your way around it using NOS to eliminate the lag.

If you are going to replace your turbo, i will offer to buy your old one, i want to do a rebuild on it and put it in my 260z. have you taken out the turbo yet?

Yeah I would be more then to part with it... it is not out of my car yet... Ill let ya know when it is.. I anticpate at least 2 months from now.. cause when I replace it I will add an intercooler at the same time.. and that will take a bit more $ then I have.. so I will drive it in the mean time.

Use the stock nissan t3 turbine with a
t04b v-trim compressor, bolts right up and gives mid 300's hp with hardly any more lag than OEM turbo if you upgrade the fuel too. Looking at your other post I think you need to do some more research.
