N/A VG30 converted to boost

Would it be a problem throwing a stock vg30et turbo on a non turbo vg30. i was reading a interesting story about the history of the vg30 motor and they said the car was over built from the factory and can handle upwards of 500 crank HP. now, is that just for the turbo motor. is the N/A motor weaker?

basically i just want to throw the t25 on my non turbo and run under 10psi and am wondering if i would have issues or if anything would need to change. ill be taking the heads off to replace the head gaskets. while they are off do i need to do anything? are the cams different?

also, for the exhaust manifold. the turbo mounts on the drivers side, so is that the only manifold i need to replace? i assume a drivers Turbo exhaust manifold would bolt up perfectly to the rest of the N/A exhaust, or is that wrong.

let me know! thanks guys!

Bolt the manifolds and turbo on, throw the turbo EFI system on it and have fun. But seriously, this has been covered to death, google it.

I just read somewhere that the crossmember will be a problem. Did I read that right? Does the crossmember need to be changed?

Go to redz31.net and read the write up there. I run a 9:0 compression ratio with 8psi on my vg33 and I have yet to have any detonation or pinging. I do put 92 octane and the weather is cold here in Oregon so that helps but generally u won't have a problem.

Yeah I actually found that site out and he says there too that you need a turbo crossmember. Idk why it's needed? What gets in the way. Can it be ground down or cut? It was hard enough locating turbo parts for this thing..I'll never be able to get a crossmember.

You need the turbo crossmember since the turbo will now be in the way. No way around it unless u relocate the turbo but that's a lot more work.

There are tons of them wandering around. Any year Z31 turbo crossmember will work. Why can't you get them?

The T25 is a small turbo. Find a T3 if you want to make it at least half way worth the effort.
